Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360
Priced between $1,699.99 and $1,899.99, the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 is the flagship 2-in-1 device in the new Galaxy Book series. While Samsung offers other 13.3- and 15.6-inch models under the Book3 360 range, the Pro 360 version is unique for its larger, 16-inch AMOLED touchscreen. With a 120Hz refresh rate, this display is a gamer’s dream. Given its premium display and exceptional battery life, it’s no surprise the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 sits at the higher end of the convertible laptop market.
Premium Build, But a Familiar Convertible Drawback
Weighing in at 3.6 pounds with its large screen, the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 leans more toward a desktop replacement than an ultraportable device. However, it still carries the executive laptop aesthetic, with an all-metal and glass design except for the keycaps and rubber feet. The build feels robust, despite slight screen hinge wobble and mild keyboard flex under pressure.
However, Samsung hasn’t entirely solved a common flaw found in 360-degree hinged laptops—this model features a thick bottom bezel, nearly an inch wide, beneath the display. That said, the 16-inch AMOLED screen boasts a stunning 2,880 x 1,800-pixel resolution, with the option to toggle between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. Rounded display corners give the laptop a sleek tablet-like look, a feature rarely seen in Windows devices.
Configurations and Key Features
The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 comes in two configurations, both featuring the same 16GB of RAM, Intel Core i7-1360P processor, and 16-inch display. The base model starts at $1,699 with a 512GB SSD, while the $1,899 version upgrades the storage to a 1TB SSD. Notably, Samsung’s non-Pro Galaxy Book3 models, while sharing similar internals, have lower-resolution 1,920 x 1,080 displays and lack the S Pen stylus that’s included with the Pro 360 (though there’s no slot for it on the laptop’s body).
Other highlights include a 1080p webcam, an upgrade from the typical 720p cameras, though image quality isn’t as sharp as expected. Audio is provided by two woofers and two tweeters positioned along the bottom edges.
When it comes to ports, Samsung has done reasonably well. The left side of the laptop houses two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and an HDMI output, while the right side includes a USB 3.2 Type-A port, a microSD card reader, and an audio jack. Although there’s room for more ports on a 16-inch laptop, adding them would likely make the device bulkier, detracting from its sleek profile.
Display and Battery: The Standout Features
The real star of the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 is its dynamic AMOLED display. With a 120Hz refresh rate, the screen offers vibrant colors, deep contrasts, and smooth video playback, making touch gestures seamless. The added bonus? A remarkable battery life of up to 17 hours, making it ideal for long workdays or extended travel.
If you prioritize sleek design, impressive battery life, and a top-notch display, the Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 is a superb large-screen convertible. However, its high price and slightly underwhelming performance prevent it from fully dominating the premium convertible market.
